The KC Tech Council traveled to Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, February 5th for the annual CompTIA DC Fly-In with twelve representatives from companies including Black & Veatch, Garmin, JE Dunn, H&R Block, MARC, Stinson Leonard Street and MarksNelson Smart Technologies. These representatives, along with the KC Tech Council team, formed Kansas City's largest delegation to advocate at the Fly-In.
The conference began with a series of panels that featured experts on immigration policies and apprenticeships, data privacy, infrastructure and artificial intelligence. Panelists explored everything from the impact of immigration on the tech workforce to roadblocks in increasing internet access across the US.
Delegations walked to the capitol on Thursday morning to carry on these important conversations with members of Congress from Kansas and Missouri. During the meetings, attendees seized the opportunity to educate members on individual and industry-wide thoughts and concerns regarding the topics discussed the day before. Each representative displayed great interest in infrastructure and privacy.
In fact, they requested to hear from you. If you would like your story to be included in future communications with Kansas and Missouri lawmakers regarding data privacy and/or infrastructure, please share it HERE.
